The following definitions of terms, as herein described, shall supersede any other definition of those terms for purposes of this chapter:

“Absentee ballot” means the casting of a vote by mail through the United States mail services.

“Absentee voter” means an enrolled member who is eligible to vote, but because of illness or necessary business is unable to vote in person and is determined eligible to vote by absentee ballot.

“Business council” means the governing body of the Robinson Rancheria and consisting of six members elected at-large from the Robinson Rancheria and composed of a chairperson, vice-chairperson, secretary-treasurer, and three members; and representative of the tribal council in the course of normal business.

“Candidate” means an eligible voter who has filed a declaration of candidacy and has been determined eligible for candidacy by the election committee.

“Election committee” means a committee whose purpose is to conduct the annual tribal election and any special election, in accordance with the provisions of this chapter and the Constitution of the Robinson Rancheria.

“Enrolled member” is a person whose name appears on the current membership roll of the Rancheria or meets the requirements of Chapter 1.05 RRTC, Enrollment.

“No proxy voting” means that an enrolled member cannot appoint an agent or agency to vote for him/her.

“Nonresident” means on enrolled member of the tribe who does not reside within the jurisdictional territory of Robinson Rancheria.

“Tribal council” means all enrolled members of the Rancheria, 18 years of age or older, who are eligible to vote, acting together as a group in a regular or duly called special meeting. [Res. 1-18-86-B Art. II, 1986.]
