(1) If the department determines the lessee is in default, the department shall send the lessee a notice of default within five business days of the determination. The notice of default may be provided by certified mail, return receipt requested.

(2) Within 15 days of the mailing, the lessee shall:

(a) Cure the default and notify the department in writing that the default has been cured;

(b) Dispute the department’s determination that the lease is in default and explain why the lease should not be canceled; or
